What is a Photofacial treatment? Photofacial is an advanced photo-rejuvenation treatment for areas such as the face, neck, arms, hands, legs and/or chest. It uses pulses of intense visible light that effectively improves facial redness, flushing, visible signs of sun damage and aging. It also decreases skin pore size and fine wrinkles. It is a non-invasive method of Photo-rejuvenation to improve the appearance of the skin with no down time. This medical device is an advanced non-Laser FDA approved, also known as Vasculite TM. It uses a highly sophisticated computerized system which customizes to your skin type and specific needs. Photofacials will provide consistent visible improvements in skin with no downtime.
Who are the best candidates for Photofacial treatments?
1)People with any degree of sun damage that want a more youthful appearance and healthier skin.
2)Anyone who suffers from Rosacea, flushing or redness of the skin.
3)People who have no time to heal from invasive procedures such as laser resurfacing or chemical peels.
4)People who desire smoother, less noticeable acne scars.
5)People who want less visible skin pores.
6)People who want more even toned skin.
What results can I expect? You can expect gentle and gradual improvements of redness, flushing, and of dilated capillaries in your skin. You can also expect a visible decrease in sun damage, smoother skin, less fine wrinkles, a reduction in skin pores and the fading of age spots. Many people with Rosacea will see an improvement in breakouts of both Rosacea and Acne. Also, patients may decrease or discontinue use of their medications.
What is a Photofacial treatment like? Each treatment takes approximately 15-30 minutes and using an advanced cooling system (Cryo 5),makes it virtually discomfort-free. Immediately after the treatment, the skin may appear pink and flushed for a few minutes with no discomfort. Brown spots generally appear darker before exfoliation in a few days, leaving smoother, even toned skin underneath.
How soon will I see results? After your first treatment, your skin will feel smoother and have a more even toned appearance. Subsequent improvements are gradual and will become more visible after each treatment. Six treatments are performed for optimal results, although some patients will benefit from additional treatments.
What are the advantages of Photofacial treatments over different lasers, chemical peels and microdermabrasion? Photofacial is the only treatment available that can make changes of the skin instantaneously. It can take 5-10 different laser treatments for different problems of the skin to get the same results of one Photofacial treatment. This is because laser has a fixed wave length, as opposed to Photofacial which has different wavelengths at the same time. Also, the 5 year follow-up study from Johns Hopkins University showed that 87% of the improvements were still visible at the end of the 5 years. The microdermabrasion and chemical peel results last between a few days or weeks at best.

What is a Laser Vein Treatment? It is a procedure which involves the use of Intense Pulsed Light, at a range of 515 to 1200 nm, for reaching the small and superficial red vessels; and high-energy pulsed laser light at 1064 nm for the deeper blue veins. The result is the most comprehensive system available today that provides unparalleled performance in the non-invasive treatment of the full range of vascular structures.
How does it work? The combination of Intense Pulsed Light and pulsed laser light addresses both the dynamics of hydrostatic pressure and the complexity of vessel networks. This makes it more effective than conventional lasers as well as conventional injection therapy. Unique Multiple Synchronized Pulsing optimizes treatment efficacy, and the state-of-the-art cooling system increases patient safety and comfort. During treatment, light penetrates the skin and is absorbed by the blood. Delays between the pulses allow for sufficient cooling of the epidermis and thermal relaxation of the vessel. Immediately after treatment, the temperature within the treated blood vessel has been raised sufficiently for it to collapse and break down. After treatment and over time, the blood vessel disappears almost completely.
What are some benefits to having this type of procedure? Treatment will cause larger veins to completely close and seal, while smaller ones are effectively dissolved. This prevents the return of blood flow and recurrence of unsightly veins. An additional benefit is that the long- wave laser energy easily passes through the melanin barrier and does not interfere with pigment, enabling successful treatment of any skin type at any time during the year. Even better, this vein treatment is administered with little discomfort to the patient, no down time and no compression wrapping. Treatment is fast and usually completed in just a few sessions. Results are both cosmetically pleasing and effective.
Are the results permanent? Yes, the results are long lasting, but remember you can develop new areas other than the treated ones.
Is the procedure painful? No. With the new chilled air technology, it is virtually pain free, with minimal discomfort.
Can I go to work the next day? You can go to work immediately. No stockings or any special treatment of the area is needed.
Can it treat spider veins as well as larger veins? Yes it does, with more than a 95% success rate, especially for veins which are less than 5mm in diameter.
Would it work on the veins found in the face, neck and hands as well as the legs? It can work on virtually any vein on the surface of the skin.
